Happy Earth Day!

Today marks the 46th Earth Day. It’s not exactly news to us as a species that we are doing a lot of damage to the world we live in. The hole we’ve made in the ozone layer isn’t getting any smaller and so today is all about remembering to adopt a more eco-friendly lifestyle to try slow down the rapid nature of global warming. Ireland is off to a great start already – it was announced today that we are set to sign the Paris agreement to lower our greenhouse gas emissions. Green isn’t our national colour for nothing, eh?

Admittedly, I’m not about to win any awards for watching my carbon footprint. I do my housemate’s head in for throwing the occasional plastic container into the wrong bin. I do try to remember to reduce, re-use, recycle when I can though (and I’ll have you know, I was on the Green-schools Committee in secondary school, haha!)

There is times when I question what exactly dividing my rubbish into different bins actually does to aid the planet but it would seem that every little helps – you don’t have to have flowers in your hair and be eating compost for breakfast to be kinder to our planet!

Anyway, I just saw this article published for Earth Day on the Guardian about bloggers who have embraced a litter-less way of life so I thought, for the day that’s in it, I should share it here with you all.

Happy reading, Earthlings!
